Vacant Position For Refrigeration Mechanic

Location: Gauteng, South Africa
We are currently seeking a qualified Refrigeration Mechanic to join our team in Gauteng. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration and HVAC systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability for our clients.
Scope of Work
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Installation and commissioning of VRV systems, down blowers, split units, and cassette air conditioners.
- Installation and servicing of cold rooms, freezer rooms, and panel cooling units.
- Troubleshooting and fault finding on refrigeration plants and HVAC systems.
- Maintenance and repair of compressors, condensers, evaporators, and control systems.
- Conducting routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
- Checking refrigerant levels, leak detection, and system recharging.
- Maintaining HVAC systems including packaged units and ventilation systems.
- Completing service reports, maintenance records, and technical documentation.
- Responding to breakdowns and emergency repair requests.
- Maintaining good client and stakeholder relations.
- Being available for standby duties when required.
Minimum Requirements:
- Trade Test Certificate in Refrigeration Mechanics (Commercial / Industrial).
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in refrigeration and HVAC systems.
Experience with:
- VRV systems
- Down blowers
- Split and cassette units
- Cold rooms and freezer rooms
- Panel cooling units
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to complete technical reports
- Valid driver’s license (advantageous)
